Review: Lioele All in One Gel Eyeliner in Smoky Black

I'm keeping my promise and posting more!

This is the first black gel liner i've bought, I've been relying on dark brown liner for the past couple of years as it's a little bit more natural but still dark. I got mine off Yesstyle on sale for about $14, usually it's around $18.

Ok this may be the worst product I've ever used. Don't be fooled by the adorable packaging. Besides the products being super black I cannot see anything else I like. I'm kind of at a loss because there's been nothing but praise with this product, did I happen to get a crappy one?

First off the formula is weird as heck. It dries all crusty and flaky. ????. When I apply this with the brush included I find it so hard to build up the color. The product on the brush dries stiff and cracked. For example the Maybelline gel liner dries on the brush but it's still easily to continue applying eyeliner. Everytime I try to build upon an existing layer it starts coming off and all this flaky fallout falls onto my cheeks. I've never encountered such disappointment because it's not something easily fixable or used for something else. I usually finish things like eyeliner/powders/foundations/mascara before I buy a new one. But I don't think I can continue using this. It's just...so hard to work with and I don't have the time and effort to work on smoothing and lining my eyes for 10 minutes.

Another disappointing factor is the brush. It's terrible, it's not so bad at first glance but the product seems to stick more on the brush than on the eyelid. I have used this with the Maybelline brush and it's also been terrible but a little better. So while the brush is cheap the formula is definitely the deciding factor for me.

The only way I could salvage this product is maybe to clean the brush every time I apply a new layer. Also you need a lot of product on your brush to make for a smoother application as it lessens how quick it dries. But beware if you don't blend it properly really sharp solid residue can flake off and harm your eyes.

I could get other gel liners for the same price.....and I did. I bought the Maybelline gel liner in black and I'm definitely not someone to buy more of the same product, unless it's lip color since there's just endless amount of colors. But something as stagnant and standard as a black gel liner this rarely happens. Anyways I would actually suggest for you to try it out since it does have stellar reviews. But honestly I would rather get the Maybelline that's been tried and tested and a few dollars cheaper. I do recommend to check out Lioele's other stuff though, they're one of my favorite brands!

Thanks for reading AND HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY! May my fellow Aussies enjoy the long weekend! :)
