Lip and arm swatches after the jump~
Haha my hairy arm is back. I bought these babies from Urban Outfitters for $5 each (?) which is super super super cheap as I can't find a lip product this good unless it's $15 and over. I bought these because I love matte finishes, I think they make the lips so full because they don't reflect. I got three Soft Matte Lip Creams in Tokyo, Antwerp and Milan. I know there are so many reviews and swatches of these on the internet but I love it so much I'm going to add my two cents.
The packaging is simple, a lot smaller than I thought they'd be but it's cool. It's got a brush applicator and the color on the bottle is what you get. Easy and simple but effortless.
The formula is a cream so it's neither a gloss or lipstick, think of a mousse. The smell...hmm I'm not sure what it smells like but to me it's like white chocolate. I don't find it too bad. The texture does feel 'soft' when on the lips, almost like velvet, so comfortable to wear. But when set it does feel a bit drying. As for the longevity it last pretty well since it does set. I'd say Antwerp is probably the least noticeable in terms of fading and it does last the best since I have worn it throughout the day.
Tokyo is a strawberry milk color. Very baby pink. It's a really cute color but it's my least favorite. Only because I have severely chapped lips all the time and if my lips are the tiniest bit dry this looks horrid. The color tends to move around a lot so it's hard to blend and have an even application. It really enhances the dryness which is unfortunate because it's such a cute color but you could say it's also it's downfall. I do like it still but I find it easier to wear when dabbed on the lips and blended with a finger. But nude mattes just don't work for me 100% of the time.
Antwerp......oh this color is my freaking favorite. It's a coral color more red than orange/pink based. I think matte colors look the best in darker shades especially in reds. It goes on like an absolute dream whether my lips are chapped or not. If you love wearing reds/oranges like me but find it way too bold for everyday use, this is the best color. It's bold enough to notice but not bold enough to give someone a punch in the face. It's perfect. Makes my lips full and is so much easier to blend than Tokyo because of the darker shade. I also find this the most long lasting out of the three and also got the most compliments while I was at university all day.
Last but not least Milan. A mid berry pink shade! It's very purple but I think it's a great alternative for a fuchsia shade if you don't want to go too bold. Similar to Antwerp this goes on so smoothly and evenly. I don't wear this often as I don't wear purply shades too much but I don't regret buying this at all. I think it's such a stunning and unique color for everyday.
Sorry if this is NYX overload but I had this draft for AGES and I really wanted to finish it and post it. There is NYX in Australia I believe but I've yet to have seen it in Perth. But if your country or state do sell NYX I highly encourage you to try these out.
Thank you for reading!! And have a happy February!
