Review: The Face Shop Post-Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser

This is a review on the Post-Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser from The Face Shop. I got it for $18AU.

I suffer from acne and acne scars, so I decided to give this treatment a go because like anyone who suffers from pigmentation and blemishes, I wanted to lessen the appearance of them. The steps to use this is easy which is probably why I bought it, just apply a small amount on any area with acne marks before you go to bed. What it claims to do on the site (Yesstyle) is...

  • Overnight spot eraser fades post-acne marks.
  • Deep penetrating formula with patent blemish control ingredient protects and helps repair damaged skin tissue overnight.
  • Provides intense care for blotchy redness and marks left from breakouts as well as unwanted discoloration.

  • Just quickly, I suffer from cystic acne. It may the most horrible thing to ever go through growing up. The acne is characterized by large zits, and it may take days or even weeks before it can be popped. Even then by the time an opening occurs, the pimple can stay there for a really long time because the junk just will not come out. So even if no more pus can be squeezed out, the zit will still be there. Because of the size of cystic acne it means that the skin will take longer to heal and this means, bigger blemishes and more pigmentation. Which sucks because cystic acne is a deep problem within the skin and cannot be easily 'erased' with creams and lotions. I definitely recommend going to the dermatologist because the second I was on medication, the acne was gone. But soon as I stopped I occasionally had the zit during you know...every month. I do not have perfect skin -I wish- but, if you have skin problems like mine, I'm here for you gurl. And not the kind of red dot on the face, I mean a whole face of red marks.

So it leads me to this, no it does not work FOR ME. I've been using this for a couple of months to no avail. And I believe this is due to the type of acne I have. It's simply not curable for someone who has cystic acne. Maybe it will work for someone else with less acne but I definitely do not recommend this to anyone who has large areas of dark pigmented acne. Another reason is because this is an Asian product from Korea, many women there look after their skin and have little to no acne. Due to the market and target audience this was definitely directed at those who suffer the occasional pimple. The only reasons I'm continuing this product is 1) MONEY WAS SPENT 2) It feels nice that I am trying to do something for my skin...even though it's not working. Anyways...
I'm not going to give a rating in stars because it simply did not work.

If anyone would like pictures of the product then look on Yesstyle. http://www.yesstyle.com.au/en/the-face-shop-post-acne-nighttime-spot-eraser-15ml/info.html/pid.1031360139 my iphone is in error right now. But as for a before and after picture, there was no difference so I decided not to show one at all to save me the time.

Do you guys have any products that have actually erased/lessened the appearance of scars from cystic acne? Leave a comment below ^^

    Thanks for reading~
