Review: Skinfood Peach Sake Toner

So I recently bought the Peach Sake Toner from Skinfood.

excuse the crappy iPhone quality huhu

"Special food for the skin to eat. Contains lots of nutritive and energetic ingredients such as fresh plants, fruits and etc. to maintain our bodies healthy and lively." -*lol engrish alert*

"SKINFOOD Peach Sake Toner (for Pore Care). Fresh toner with 'sake' traditional wine brewed with rigidly selected rice and 'peach' extracts rich in vitamin A and C to remove greasiness due to enlarged pores and excessive sebum. To use: Wash your face, put a portion of the toner on your palm and then rub it gently into your face or put a small amount on a cosmetic cotton pad and smoothly apply outward along facial textures."

I have used a toner before but I can't remember what it was, so I do have some sort of product to compare it with. First off, it costs $22AUD on Yesstyle.

It contains135mL and the total length of the bottle is approximately 17cm or approximately a hand's length. I personally think that this is a decent amount of product for the price. The packaging itself is really cute, the bottle is made of a frosty glass sort of material (lol that is such a bad description) so handle it with care. Yes it does resemble a sake bottle (a type of Japanese alcohol from what I know) and the lid looks like wood. Overall the packaging is really awesome but I can't help but think that's partly the reason why it costs so much. That...or I am just a cheapskate.

Now to the actual product itself! The description is says on the site is:
"A refreshing toner revitalizes tired and stressed skin with a few swipes. Sake extracts tighten pores and minimize oil production, allowing skin to stay fresh and matte longer, while peach extracts boost skin's ability to regenerate itself, leaving skin noticeably healthier looking with a radiant glow. Recommended for oily and acne-prone skin types."

Now when I applied this product, it did give me a refreshing feeling. It doesn't last long but it does feel quite nice. It does claim what it does, it leaves your face feeling matte and quite supple, soft and smooth. Honestly my favorite thing about this product is the SMELL. It's a light peach smell. It's amazing. Anyways I also think it works quite well as a substitute for a cleansing oil, it gets rid of excess makeup still left on your face after you've showered. Of course a toner is not an essential step in your routine. It's just the extra mile you can take to ensure your skin is spotless and thoroughly cleaned. For someone like myself who wears makeup on most days and suffers from break-outs, this is something I find myself having to do to minimise my crappy skin. I do think I have seen a reduction of redness in my scars but I do get the occasional pimple. As for my pores, they haven't really any change either.

Would I purchase this again? 50/50. I honestly think toners are not all that different from eachother. And $22 is a lot for someone like me so it's not something I must need. I recommend this product to someone who has oily skin which needs a little extra cleaning. I have combination skin, as to why I didn't find a huge change.

Quality? 3.7/5
Packaging? 5/5
Value for money? 3.5/5
What is claims to do? 3.5/5

Overall it's a decent product but it's not amazingly different from other toners and if you don't need one then I suggest you save your money. But if you find toner an important step then I would look around first before buying this one.

Thanks for reading! :)
