The Bobbi Brown foundation brush I like to apply this with. |

This is the first product I've ever splurged on and it's the first high-end product I've bought. I originally bought this for my mum as I read the foundation worked with heat and temperature changes and my mum works in that environment. But the color was way too dark for my mum so I decided to work with it.
The packaging is luxurious and so elusive. It looks and feels expensive. I felt so posh. (Haha). It's contained in glass, so it can be fragile. The entire bottle is gold beside the outer rim which is clear. There is a gradient effect with a gold colour running from the top slowly into the clear part of the bottle. Hard to explain but it's very subtle but it gives a slightly holographic feel to the packaging. The lid is a glossy gold shade with the name of the brand Guerlain imprinted at the front. One of my favorite things is the pump. Very convenient.
The foundation is very watery. Before use, you must shake it, it's an important step. Even the packaging reminds you to do so. The advantage of using watery foundations is that they're so light and blend into your skin very well. This helps make it last longer. And I can definitely say that this foundation has very good staying power. With powder you can get away with it for the entire day. I find even with its consistency I can apply it with my brush or hands.
Once on, it leaves a slightly matte finish, good for oily skin. It doesn't sit too well on dry skin I find. Especially on dry patches. So exfoliate and moisturize those areas beforehand. It does not feel sticky but it does feel light on the skin, it's converted me to watery foundations. It's coverage is very good for its consistency. I'd say it's a medium to full. Which I absolutely love.
I like to wear this every day as it contains SPF25 PA ++ and we know how important it is to protect your skin. But even with the SPF I find it to work quite well for special occasions at night.
Before and after. This is on the left side of my forehead. It covers really well and blends well into my skin even though it looks dark in person.
It's only cons would be the amount of shades. I have #02 and it's little too dark for me. Especially if I use bronzer on top. It's also a little orange based but when blended into the skin it sort of morphs into my skin tone. The range of colors could be more expansive. It also has a light perfumed scent to it which I personally do not mind.
Swatches, one on white and one on my arm. It looks a lot less orange/yellow when on my arm so don't be too off put from the color. But as you can see it's a little dark on my arm.
Overall it's a great foundation. It doesn't break me out, is light, covers well, long-lasting and can be used for any occasion. I see it as an all-round multi purpose product. I'd recommend this highly for those with normal-oily skin. But be aware of the shades available.
Thanks for reading!
