Review: Etude House Face Designing Brightener

Good day people! I am keeping up to my promise and posting a review today! Etude House has got to be the leading brand of Korean makeup over here, it's very well-known and when we think of Korean makeup Etude House comes to mind very quickly. So I thought I'd do a review on an Etude Product.

I've been using this so that's why it looks like this
I love highlighting my face, maybe a little too much. But as I skip blush and bronzer for everyday, highlighting is a simple yet such an effective way to add a lil somethin somethin. Haha. Etude House's Face Designing Brightener is a simple compact powder highlighter.

The packaging is perfect, it's small, contains lots of product, is a compact with a mirror too! The powder itself is imprinted with some stars which is cute.

The highlighter is a peachy beige color which contain very very fine glitters. It's not disco ball shimmer by all means, but more of a subtle shine. It's selling point is definitely the color and the natural glow it has. It would suit Asian/yellow skintones since it's very similar to our undertones. But it would definitely suit many skintones as it's pale and comes off neutral unlike a gold or pink highlight.

The powder is finely milled and the texture feels very soft and light which means you can pack it on and it won't feel cakey. Added bonus but I really like the smell of this highlighter it smells sweet. Haha. But it's not a perfumed or a strong scent so I can vouch it won't break you out.

The cons of this is that it's not intense. You could find blushers that have a stronger glow than this. The shimmers are so small that you may not even see it at all as most come off as you put it on. If you like a strong highlight I do not recommend this, it won't show up that much unless you layer it over another highlight. This has a satin finish also and although putting on a lot won't feel cakey, it has a tendency to look quite frosty.

The pros are it does have more of a subtle glow. For me, I see a difference ever so slightly in the sun or when I take photos and I think it's nice to know when you're walking outside that light is reflecting off your cheekbones and nose. You never know maybe someone will take notice when you move slightly, it's makes such a difference. I also think powdered highlighters are a great investment because they are easier to blend and quick for early mornings too. You can chuck it on and not worry about it especially if it's in a color like this. This one also has a compact mirror which is always a plus. Also makes for a great eyeshadow too, it looks great on the brow bone, inner corners and eye lid for a fresh look.

Overall it's a great non-fuss highlight. I don't think I would buy it again if I ever ran out but it's certainly pretty but maybe a little average in terms of it's ability to highlight. I use this as a cheap highlighter for everyday use so if you want something like that as well, get this!

Thanks for reading!
