Review: Canmake Melty Nude Lip #3 Baby Pink

This Canmake line caught my eye when I was browsing Yesstyle one day. It was a nude range of lip colors with really glamorous packaging. Since I was in the market for a nude lipstick I thought I would take a chance on one~

I bought the color #3 Baby Pink which is the third not so pale color. It is the most pale from #1 and less pale to #4. This particular color is also the best selling from their line in Japan so I thought it would be the most wearable out of their range.

Can we just admire this packaging? CAN WE?!???//// It feels so luxurious and sturdy in its glossy rose gold packaging. The lipstick itself is shaped in a gem sort of fashion. It looks like a piece of lipstick jewelry. It is my most good looking lipstick I would just buy it for the packaging....which I may or may not have done.....................

Nude lipsticks never really work for me as much as I would love to wear them a lot of the time it just doesn't sit right. I have a lot of lines, cracks, and if I wear anything other than a lip balm my lips get dry within minutes.

The Melty Nude Lip is just what the name suggests, the texture is very creamy and it tends to move on the lips. I actually would rather it be overly creamy than dry. It's not soft like the Revlon Lip Butters where it gets squished in the tube, this lipstick holds it shape and is only creamy once on the lips. It's not really the texture that highlights my dry spots but it's the color but that's a given for a nude lipstick.

The color is super pale, if it didn't have a pink undertone I would look dead. I don't think I could go any lighter than this. It is a nice color though, it actually looks peach on the arm swatch but more cool-toned on the lips. But since it is so pale the undertones are quite neutral. It does make my teeth yellow though so I avoid slathering on this lipstick which leads me on to the next point.

The key to wearing this lipstick is to dab it on. Due to its texture dabbing it on will relieve putting on too much and thus reducing how much it moves on the lips. And it also takes away the paleness and it won't become too overly nude.

It doesn't really last because of its texture it comes off easily. But surprisingly it lasts more than I thought it would because it doesn't make my lips dry. I actually see this lasting 2 hours which is different from the usual hour or so. I like how it fades away too it's not noticeable and uneven at all. If you dabbed it on you get a nude not far from your natural lip shade so when it fades it's really natural and your lips look quite nice and still pale afterwards.

Packaging: 9/10
Moisturizing: 8/10
Long-lasting: 6/10

Overall I strangely like it, it's certainly not free of flaws but I like it. I find it more comfortable to wear than other lipsticks and it's a just a nice lipstick to have. Would I recommend it? Yes. But like I said I can see why it wouldn't work for a large majority but give it a try anyway.

Thanks for reading! What are your favorite nude lipsticks? :)
