Review: Revlon Just Kissable Lip Stains in Honey, Rendezvous, Romantic, Crush

Ok I'm pretty late to the party with these babies. But hey they were on sale and I really needed some long-wearing lip products so what the hey? It doesn't exactly justify buying four but let's just move on...................

I bought these online at Priceline which is a health and beauty store in Australia. They were having the Red Dot sale recently and sure enough I went a lil cray. I've been eyeing Revlon products for awhile but they were still expensive for me who's a uni student on a budget. So when I saw that these stains were all under $10 from the original $18 I couldn't help myself.

I decided to go with these in particular because they were more of a balm consistency than a watery one which meant I could control and maneuver the product a bit more before it set. And also because I thought it'd be a good investment for uni as I wouldn't need to touch up the color.

The packaging is super cute, it's like a retractable crayon. It's very easy to use and despite the chubbiness of it, it's quite precise. They all have a shine once on and once that shine wears off you'll be left with the stain. The color does fade a bit once the original gloss is off but it's still noticeable especially for Romantic and Crush they pretty much look the same either way. There's no doubt they'll dry out your lips. But I like with a stain you can apply lip balm over it and the color won't transfer off. I'm willing to overlook it since 1) it's always going to happen with a stain, and 2) the longevity is really what I want.

(Sorry there are no lip swatches for these but they are a stain and if I were to layer the different colors on top it wouldn't be true). But I can say that besides Honey which goes on darker on the lips the others are exactly the same whether on the arm or lips.

I was torn between buying Honey or Cherish but I went with Honey instead since it had better reviews. But I'm wishing I bought Cherish instead because it wasn't what I was expecting. I expected it to be a mauvey/light berry shade and it does go on that shade. But as soon as the shine wears off and stain is left it turns into a raspberry shade....(0_0). It's NICE but it wasn't what I wanted. I really wanted a light pinky stain. And this definitely wasn't it, it's a lot darker and stranger. I don't really reach for it often I admit.

Rendezvous is another bright orange shade (can you blame me though I love my oranges and I needed it in a stain formula too haha). It's super pretty, it's a true orange mandarin shade. It stains a slightly faded orange but it's nothing to be disappointed about since the color is still vibrant nonetheless. Applying too much of this starts becoming a little dark. So I like to apply this over a bit of concealer on the lips to create the really cute milky peach shade which is very popular in Asia. This is a good longwearing one if you want to try out the orange trend this year.

Romantic is a neutral red shade. I don't think it leans either warm or cool so it's a really good option for many girls and guys out there. I love this red shade. I like that it's not too intense for everyday and for those days I want a bold lip color I always use this. I especially like this since it's in a stain formula and it dries similar to a matte finish, I always love my reds as mattes.

Lastly Crush (shoutout to 2NE1 how good is that album?????///) is a deep purple based plum shade. Ahhh it's so pretty! It's super pigmented but you can control how dark you want it. It's fun to change to dark lip products sometimes it makes your lips really full and you look pretty badass too haha. I'd say this does fade when it stains but it's still super pigmented more so than the rest.

Anyways I really enjoy using these products, it's really easy to use. Because it's sort of a matte lipstick and stain in one. I really recommend these if you're looking for a bolder/darker stain. I don't think the lighter stains work in general unless they're more of a tint (eg. Etude House Cherry Tints, 3CE Cherry Tint). Other than that I really recommend these or at least to check out stains like these

Thanks for reading (back to studying now T_T) xx
